Defining Family
My family has agreed to be photographed for a diversity project that is being produced by a local photographer.
His work will be presented in a local art show.
This is the picture he has chosen to use of us. I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful it is to have Robert front and center in a family photo!
The overall theme: Defining family.
Sooooooooo, in a paragraph or two, how do you define family?

awww, that is so beautiful. and i absolutely adore that huge armchair in your divine lounge. i want one!
family is so many things to so many different people. for me it's just knowing that there are people who love me and care for me no matter what, who will always be there for me ...
This is a wonderful picture...
I'm interested in the project the local photographer is doing...
Wow! That's really cool.
Very interesting subject. I'll think on it today and try to post soemthing tomorrow. Great pics!

What a wonderful family photo!
RYC - Yes, 11 years does seem like 11 minutes. It all goes too quickly!
Great picture. Interesting question. I think family are the people you come home to, even if it's not really your home. They are the people you can call at 3 in the morning and all you have to do is say their name and they'll be right there, no questions asked. And they're the ones who'll be as thrilled for you winning the lottery as they would be for themselves. I'm a believer that although you can't choose your blood, you CAN choose your family.
:color:<adore this little guy. Absolutely- you are more than welcome to come inside. You are now protected, and your family is gorgeous! Blessings Be. ~Siaj
What an awesome pic!!! So many personalities and walks of life and yet you can feel the closeness between all of you just by looking at that pic. You've accomplished many great things with your family just by being who you are and raising your family to be who they are. Congrats, Mamma!
The guy in the middle with the long hair is gorgeous!! hehehehehe
That is a beautiful photo!
Family is love. Family is caring, taking care of, and being taken care of.
Family is any group of people who share, love, make decisions, nurture and love some more.
Just a few thoughts.....
great pic
What a neat picture!!! Your family is beautiful....I love that this picture is so casual and not really "POSING"...you know? It looks more natural to me. How do I define family?.......we are a "tribe" of people who are there for each other no matter what faults we have in our lives. We fight with each other over silly things but if anyone else was to hurt us.....we would definitely be there to stand up for each other. We are a group of beings that learn together about life's interesting adventure.
How nice! Thanks for sharing~
in response to your comment: it feels good to see people out and about who are obviously gay. i never get that opportunity at home.... i want a family one day and to see that IT IS possible is just breathtaking. butch women are an inspiration to me.
VERY cool!
I answered what I think a family is today. If you get a chance go check it out. Hope you are feeling better.
What a great photo!!! You will have to let us know when it is in print!
spinksy said it all.....regarding family. My parents are both deceased and we (6 siblings & myself) see each other so often, people cannot believe how close we are. Thankfully, we are that way otherwise we would not be able to deal with my nephew's death last year.
Have a great weekend!
Another thing, when my nephew "came out" a few years ago, we accepted him for who he was and still is. He has SO many friends that have had their parents disown them. Very sad indeed. Before my mother passed away 4 years ago, she had to make sure that she had no problems with him being gay. :color:
OH girl, I just wanted to say that my nephew that passed away wasn't gay, his brother Shane is. Not sure if that matters!!! Have a good day!
Love the dude with the long hair. Reminds me of my son-in-law. I believe all guys should look like they did in days of Robin Hood.
:tophat:
What a fabulous picture of the whole family! I would love a framed copy to hang on the wall. It's heart-warming to see you all together. You have such a wonderful and inspirational family ... I hope you realize how lucky you are and count your blessings every day. I love you all and miss you soooo much! :hearts:
You and your family make my heart sing! How lovely!!!!! Love you girl!
