  • AND THEN

    Some days I don't want to be a mom or a grandma or a student or a daughter or a teacher or a dean -- only a woman -- dreaming a different kind of dream, realizing a different potential, exploring a different world.

    But I am all of these things, and so I must juggle a little bit of each all of the time -- juggle -- yes. I must juggle each day to stay alive ............

  • but surely without the juggling there would be no reason to stay alive for we would lose all the bits that make each of us the people we are ...

    enjoy your juggling ... but perhaps try to do less juggling each day :hearts:.

  • You are all those things...and many more...sometimes it's ok to try and peel down to only one layer...even if it's just for awhile...

  • I am impressed.:) ..education is a wide open field.... there is so much we can do better...and some of it boils down to such simple things as more wait time when asking a student a question. I know people say the same old ideas keep being rewarmed and renamed... and there is some truth to it but there are so many variables to consider it is and endless source of possible new approahes too...I used to teach special education...my kids were usually in a self contained class and until the law required it to be cross catergorical I worked with students whose major obstacles to learning were emotional problems or mental illness.I really enjoy a magazine called Teacher magazine... its not one of those bulletin board ...class room fun stuff type rags but offers articles on all manner of innovation...and on conroversies in the field.
