Just a quick update, as I need an excuse to not read anymore tonight about the "Postmodern Turn" ............
Robert started his parenting classes last week. He says the first night was just a getting to know one another session but that he already knows that one woman will be talking everyone else's ear off.
At his last parole visit, he was hit with a pop pee-test, and he passed with no problem. I knew he would, but it is always nice to hear.
The next court date for extended visitation rights is October 18th. Robert is flying up to NY on the 16th so he can spend a few days with Destiny while he is there. We got his ticket on Friday - a window seat, of course. This hearing, hopefully, will establish some concrete visitation pattern that will quickly lead to full custody.
This is Robert's second quarter in college. He is majoring in hotel and tourism management. He got an 'A' in his first class (computer applications). This quarter he is in an introductory tourism class online (which he says includes WAY too much writing) and an in-seat English class that hasn't started into the major writing assignments yet. When it does, he is going to wish it was as easy as his online class, lol.
We are quickly nearing the one year mark of Robert's release date. He reminded us tonight. I am so proud of him. He has really stepped up to the plate this time and has remained focused and determined to grow and develop as a dad ................... and as a whole person.

Congrats to him on his class! He's truly come a long way.
God bless you all....I am SO happy. How wonderful to watch him grow with such steady determination, to become the man you always knew he could be, to be the daddy he longed to be.
I pray that things will always be so good for you, and for him, and for that sweet baby. Please give him my best and tell him I think he's terrific (which also means that he has a terrific mom!)
Very glad to hear things are going well, particularly so well with Robert. This young man of yours has guts and heart!
enjoy and take good care,
D
He's doing such a great job! I bet you are mighty proud of him!
You've all come a long way in a year. It's very heartening!
You have every reasonto be proud.,It seems your son is on his way to becoming a strong man....and perhaps he will be both compassionate and not easily led because of the lessons he has already learned.
I'm so happy for you!
Kudos to him.
You must be so proud.
been a long time since I last checked in. This is so good. Sometimes, with the right supports in hand, even those of us without connections can find ways to get back. Congratulations to you all.
wow - is it really nearing a year? he's achieved so much in that time ... :hearts:
That's great news! I wish him continued good luck with everything!
:goodjob: This made my heart sing. I did the comeback trail myself after a long stint as an alkie and very few believed I would make it. You are a good mom, a good friend, and just what Robert needs. I am proud of you!
