UPDATE:
Robert was unemployed for less than two full days. Not bad for an ex-con who couldn't sell himself to anyone less than a year ago..............
He will now be working at Ruby Tuesday's Restaurant as a waiter. He hasn't really done this before (and has often claimed that he is a "kitchen guy"), but he excited by the challenge.
Personally, I think that with a personality like his he will be fabulous on the floor, and I know that he will soon be making quite a bit of money per shift.

Oooooh, wait staff - scary!
Has he seen the moving Waiting? lol. I'm sure he'll be great, but probably exhausted.
This is wonderful news! Think of the potential here ... socializing in a professional way, meeting new people every day, expanding his already beautiful personality ... CONGRATULATIONS, ROBERT!!!!!!!
Congrats!!!! Tell him to stay positive and be nice to everyone! There are lots of ass customers from what I hear
But there are some good ones too
Good for Robert! I think that is wonderful!
My suggestion for wait staff speak loudly and clearly to the people. Sorry, that's my pet peeve when you are in a restaurant and you can't hear or understand your server, although, I think it happens more with female servers.
So, were you happy with your election results? I was very happy with the results in Illinois.
I knew there was something better out there for him. He has such a great smile and he's going to kick butt as a waiter! This is one of our favorite restaurants. Tell him he'll make extra good tips if he's good to his patrons' little kids...the ones who have brought little things for Betsy have always gotten extra money from us.
:goodjob:
Congratulations to Robert! I knew he could do it!
crisis to opportunity that quickly. This will be very good for him. A major chance to rebuild confidence.
Awesome! congrats
huzzah! that's fabulous.
Please give him my congratulations!
i am happy to hear your update
Yippee!
I love Ruby Tuesdays!!
that's great news
I don't want to be rude or anything and you know I don't think he really did anything wrong anyway, apart from being in the wrong place in the wrong part of the century (100 years ago he could have been in the same place and gone to the corner shop for some opium for his daughter's teething pains even), but don't you think its time to stop referring to him as an ex-con as though it were his definining characteristic? Falling foul of a stupid law that is enforced harshly is stupid in itself, and having to pay the price is a total waste of a life. He's moved on, shouldn't you?
If this reads rude then I'm really sorry because I don't mean it that way and I come to visit because I like reading about you all and I like your writing but I unsubbed a while back because I thought Robert was getting a bum deal and thought he could be called all sorts of wonderful things instead of always having a negative definition. So now I've told you why.
