They are engaged. Destiny is very happy and is telling everyone that she and daddy are marrying Keri.
I am so sorry that I don't update more. Isn't it odd how we so easily document the pain and so often overlook the joy?
Peace to all.

YIKES. I need to come into my own site more often. It appears as if some of you thought that the previous picture was from Robert's wedding. It wasn't. It was a family members wedding, and Destiny was the flower girl.
Robert is going to ask his girl to marry him, though, on Christmas morning. He showed me the ring last week. It is beautiful. They are all living together, now, and seem very in love.
I still have to pinch myself occassionally. It is hard to believe that all of the sleepless nights spent waiting for the phone to ring, afraid that the phone would ring, wanting the phone to ring, are finally over.
Robert is such a different man today than he was two years ago. He is stronger, braver, kinder, and more able to walk away from those who may drag him down, and it is all because of his beautiful daughter. I didn't think Brittani should have her. I hated that she was being born to a drug addicted mother and an imprisoned father. But now I am thankful every day, for she gave life to my son, a life that I had given up on, that he had given up on, a life of joyful play, honest work, and love and laughter.
I know some of you are where I was two years ago. Please hang on to hope. Anything can happen. It truly can.
Destiny was in a wedding this weekend. Here she is with daddy and Keri before she took the petals down the isle (the sand isle, that is). She looked like a little princess.
On another note, Robert's parole officer has said that he is putting in the paperwork for Robert's early release. If that goes through (or WHEN that goes through) he will truly have that part of his life behind him. Then he and Destiny and Keri can begin planning for a beautiful future together.
TOGETHER FOREVER!
It is official. As of 4:08 PM on July 26, 2007, Robert has full custody of his daughter. I swore I wasn't going to cry, but I did - a lot. He cried too - and I am ready to cry again just remembering the sound of those words, "I got it, mom. I got it." It is unbelievable but true. Finally, the ultimate in good news! Thank you all for sending so much positive energy our way.
Destiny turned three on July 2, 2007. Since Robert had her last year on her birthday, he didn't get her this year. Her other grandma took pictures of the birthday weekend, though. Here they are. ![]()

The custody trial begins on July 26, 2007. For those of you who have been following Robert's imprisonment, release, and custody battle, please keep your crossables crossed that this will turn out well for my son. He has worked so hard for this moment, and he and Destiny deserve a chance...........
Robert Update.
Robert called us tonight before we left work. "Mom," he said, "You should come out here and have dinner."
And so we did.
Notice in this picture that he has a grey shirt and everyone else has a red one. That is because he is now an assistant manager.
"I will have a key to the doors and the register and the office," he beamed when he told us the news.
"I am very proud of you," I replied. "Very, very, proud."
Our beautiful Katherine Ruth married her love, Larry (AKA Rocky), yesterday.
Her nephew is seen here "playing" a song for her on the piano in the church.
This one was taken before the wedding. The one below was taken after the wedding. I hope the photographer got lots of good ones of the actual ceremony, as my small digital didn't like the lighting..........
The cake was amazing. It was almost as beautiful as the bride.
I have tons of photos, and all of our children and grandchildren looked gorgeous, but I think I will only use these two pictures. It was her day, and I don't want anything to overshadow that.
