  • Does anyone here live in NY?

Why do things have to be so complicated?

Robert VOLUNTARILY completed a paternity test through a court approved company. The results indicated that Destiny is his (without a doubt). He filed papers to begin custody proceedings.

Saturday, he received a letter saying that he had not filed the court papers that requested the paternity (there aren't any), nor had he filed the relinquishing of rights to a paternity test papers.

Hello, there aren't any. HE HAD THE TEST DONE, and the results were included in the paperwork.

According to his lawyer, he now has to file a new petition requesting paternity acknowledgement. Then he can file for custody.

    Anyone have Advil?

  • *has no pain relief so passes you a brick wall so you can keep banging away*

    that's so ridiculous.

  • Sometimes you wonder what rock those government clerks crawled out from.  Geesh.

  • Will they be strong enough?

  • i am in NJ...does that help??

  • that's insane!!! totally insane!!!!

  • Oh for heaven's sake!
You can't get a break from the stupidity!

  • What a pain...I guess you guys haven't jumped through enough hoops yet! Sheesh!

  • I wouldn't be looking for Advil... I'd be looking for something that would violently and painfully end the life of some dumb ass clerk... which would, in turn, make me feel MUCH better.  I do have a bottle of Lye I'm willing to part with... want it?

I wonder how much money those people make that develop the endless sting of hoops that people have to jump thru in order to accomplish the simplest of things.  There must be quite a bit of money in it, because there seems to be a lot of hoops out there... which tells me that people are clammoring to get in the hoop-making industry!  Do you suppose there's just as much money in the "unhooping"?  Grrrrr.

  • What a pain! Good luck with trying to get it all straightened out.

  • Ugh! You just gotta love the legal system...nothing else on the planet could possibly be as screwed up as our courts in this country! That's why after putting myself through college to become a paralegal I quit my profession after working only 6 months at a law firm.
Sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

  • Sounds like your son is doing everything he can to make things right...it will all work out in the end. Don't worry about "how"...just believe it will.

I have a son his age...and another age 14. (Coincidentally, my younger son's name is Robert, too!) It's tough raising boys, especially if you're doing it alone...but there's no greater joy when they "find" themselves and you realize they really were listening all along! I am constantly amazed by my boys...I'm sure you know what I mean.

  • I hate when government can't think outside the box... the this here item wasn't checked so you have to do it all over again... kind of crap.

  • Oh man! It's like that oxymoron "Military Intelligence"!

We have an employee who is fighting for visitation with his daughter. We live in CA his daughter in AZ. he was granted visitation last week Mondays and Thursdays from 4-7pm and every other Sunday from 10 am -6pm...SERIOUSLY????
